AgroBiotechNZ BioFertilisers increase Potato Yield
- 13 June 2025
- Paul Daly
This trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of biostimulant treatments on the yield of Nadine potatoes.
The study aimed to assess whether the application of AgroBiotech BioStimulants could improve crop
performance compared to a control treatment. The trial was carried out at Crozier Farm, Leeston, Canterbury and
included the biostimulant treatments alongside an untreated control.
Here's a summary of the potato trial results:
Highest Total Potato Yield:
- AgroComplex (75.2) had the highest total potatoes per plot
- on average.
- AgroPhos (74.2) was the second-best performer.
- AgroAzzo (72.5) and AgroAmylo (72.3) were also above the
- control.
Best Weight per 6 Plants:
- AgroPhos (12.87 kg) had the highest average weight.
- AgroComple (12.81 kg) followed closely.
- AgroAzzo (12.51 kg) and AgroAmylo (12.28 kg) performed
- similarly.
Highest A-Grade Potato Percentage:
- AgroPhos (37.2%) produced the most A-grade potatoes.
- AgroComple (35.8%) was the second best.
- AgroAmylo (33.7%) and AgroAzzo (33.0%) performed
- moderately.
- Control (30.9%) had the lowest A-grade count.
Overall Findings:✅ Best All-Round Treatments:
- AgroPhos: Best weight, best A-grade count, and lowest
- undersized potatoes.
- AgroComple: High total yield, good A-grade count, and
- competitive weight.
- ⚠️ Less Effective Treatment:
- Control: Lowest total potatoes, lowest A-grade percentage,
- and higher number of small/oversized potatoes.
