Nitrogen-Fixing Azotobacter chroococcum

AgroAzzo is a concentrated microbial inoculant containing Azotobacter chroococcum, a beneficial free-living soil bacterium capable of biological nitrogen fixation.

By converting atmospheric nitrogen into biologically available forms, Azotobacter can contribute to nitrogen cycling within the rhizosphere and support crop growth as part of an integrated nutrient management programme.

How AgroAzzo Works

Azotobacter chroococcum is a free-living nitrogen-fixing bacterium that can colonise the soil and rhizosphere without requiring the specialised root nodules associated with legume–Rhizobium systems.

Under suitable conditions, Azotobacter converts atmospheric nitrogen (N₂) into biologically available nitrogen compounds, contributing to nutrient cycling around the developing root system.

AgroAzzo provides a concentrated source of A. chroococcum for incorporation into crop nutrition and biological soil programmes.

Application Guide

AgroAzzo can be applied as a seed treatment, in-furrow application or soil drench, allowing it to be incorporated into a range of cropping programmes.

Seed treatment: 0.5–1 L per 100 kg seed
In-furrow: 2 L/ha
Soil drench: 3–5 L/ha

Suitable for pasture, cereals, forage crops, vegetables, horticultural crops and other production systems.
